Of the 15 remaining undefeated teams in the state that qualify in our Top Ten rankings, only one of them managed to play in the State Championship last December. That was Essex, the reigning Class 1 Champs who are fresh off a 22-0 shutout of Rappahannock. In fact, only two others among those 16 – Greeen Run in Class 5 and Glenvar in Class 2 – managed to make the State Playoffs a year ago.

We’re down to just one undefeated team left in Class 6 and only one in Class 3. In Class 6, it’s the Manchester Lancers, who are enjoying their best campaign since the undefeated, record-setting campaign of 2018 that culminated in a state title. The team without a blemish in Class 3 is Magna Vista, a program that’s no stranger to success, winning consecutive Championships in 2014 and 2015 under current Head Coach Joe Favero.

There also stands a chance for a region to send three unbeatens to the playoffs. That’s Region 4B with the likes of Dinwiddie, Louisa and Caroline all without a loss to date in 2025.

Below you can see a full expanded chart of the complete Top Tens for all six classifications heading into Week 9 of the 2025 Virginia High School Football season.
