YAA Dallas Top Performers Defense
Here are some of the Defensive award winners for the YouAreAthlete (YAA) camp in Dallas.
YAA Defensive backs
Junior Braylon Davis (5-9, 155) was 1st team All-District at Waxahachie High School, where he finished with seven pass breakups, a pick, and two defensive touchdowns. Davis also runs track and has offers from Sacramento State and Delaware State.
Katy High School sophomore David Olotu-Judah (5-11, 155) was one of the top recruits at the Dallas camp. He had an impact season with seven interceptions, 10 pass breakups, and 37 tackles. Olotu-Judah has an offer from Old Dominion, and I expect more D1 offers to follow.
8th-grader Josiah Young (5-8, 145) competed in the High School camp and still earned an invite to the YouAreAthlete Nationals in Houston. He played 8th-grade football in Texas and recorded 24 touchdowns in nine games, including four returns and three pick-six touchdowns. Young is also a 12-time USA Track & Field Junior Olympian, competing in sprint events and relays.
Kristian Ewell-Berry (5-11, 167) from Lady Bird Johnson High School in San Antonio earned an invite to the YAA Houston National. Ewell-Berry is a junior who had an interception and nine tackles on varsity.
Christian Fields (6-3, 180) has a long wingspan, which helped him make four interceptions for Allen High School during the 2025 season. The junior played both free safety and strong safety.
YAA Linebacker
Junior Joshua Carrier (6-1, 210) won overall linebacker MVP at the YAA camp in Dallas. Carrier recorded 60 total tackles, with 10 hurries and two sacks while playing edge/linebacker for Sam Houston High School in Louisiana. He has one offer from Community Christian College, but likely needs more exposure to start receiving additional offers.
Cooper Kerbo (5-8, 175) was an All-District linebacker as a sophomore. He was credited with 146 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, and four sacks. Kerbo will likely need to add size to play linebacker in college or switch to rover/safety.
Freshman Hudson Stephens (6-0, 165) played varsity for Grand Oaks High School, and he was selected as one of the top 5 linebackers. Other linebacker invites included Dylan Banda (5-8, 165) from Seven Lakes High School, and sophomore Braxton Fontaine from Summer Creek High School.
YAA Lineman
Junior Zyien Thompson (6-1, 290), who plays at Eaton High School, has a good frame to be an anchor in the middle of the defensive line. Thompson says he has no offers but has interest from D1 schools.
Defensive tackle Ju’Lee Gee (6-3, 270) has some more growing to do. The sophomore from Waxahachie High School was credited with two sacks and 13 tackles in 2025. He projects as a college lineman and should begin to attract interest before his junior season.
Other defensive linemen who earned invites were junior Siale Mapakaitolo (6-2, 255) from L.D Bell High School, sophomore Brendan Hill (5-11, 245) from Bryant High School in Arkansas, and Jelanie Johnson (6-0, 262) from North Shore, who was the only freshman defensive line invite.
