Here are some of the offensive award winners for the YouAreAthlete (YAA) camp in Dallas.
YAA Quarterbacks
A total of 11 quarterbacks earned invites to Houston in May. Four freshmen were among the 11 players, including the overall quarterback MVP, Blake Meeks, from Henderson High School. As a freshman, Meeks (6-2, 200) completed 29 of 54 passes for 445 yards and five touchdowns while splitting snaps with a senior.
Senior Zach Colwell was 1 of 2 seniors to receive an invitation to the national camp. Colwell completed 131 of 253 passes for 1576 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also ran for 889 yards and 12 touchdowns. Colwell received an offer from Howard Payne.
North Crowley sophomore Ahzeel McCradic was the tallest quarterback award winner at 6-3, while 2030 prospect Gavin Pritzkau was the youngest.
YAA Running Backs
Junior Marquis Murry II (6-0, 205) was surprised he didn’t get the overall running back MVP, but he did receive an invite to the Houston national camp. Murry already has offers from North Texas and Dartmouth. As a junior, Murry totaled 1504 yards rushing with 24 total touchdowns. The 2-sport star also leads the basketball team in scoring.
Junior J-uan Harrison Jr. (5-10, 190) was one of the top running back prospects at the YAA Dallas camp. Harrison gained 1370 yards at Legacy High School on 202 carries with 13 touchdowns. He also added 21 catches for 243 yards and two receiving touchdowns. Harrison has received an offer from Eastern New Mexico University and interest from about a dozen other schools.
Freshman Dylan Guerrero (5-10, 185) has attended several camps since the start of the new year and has picked up hardware at each one. Guerrero says he had 1700 yards and 19 touchdowns on the Jack C Hays High School freshman team
YAA Receivers
The YAA coaches selected 17 receivers to compete in the YouAreAthlete National Showcase with over half from the freshman class.
Louisiana junior BraeShun Weary made a big impression and was selected as a top receiver. He was used in a variety of positions at Covington High School, finishing with 450 yards receiving, 120 yards rushing, and 342 total yards on punt and kickoff returns. He scored six receiving touchdowns.
Brian Manuel Jr (6-0, 170) has offers from Stephen F. Austin and Sam Houston State. Manuel has proven to be a great playmaker, catching 18 touchdown passes and recording over 1,000 receiving yards last season at Atascocita High School. He has a Hudl film showing all 18 receiving touchdowns.
Sophomore Amarien Hughes (6-3, 185) can create mismatches with his height and athleticism. Not only did he play the X receiver for Caney Creek High School, but returned kickoffs and punts. He finished the season with 23 catches for 383 yards and three touchdowns. The tall receiver has an offer from the University of Texas-San Antonio.
Freshman Ashton Willey (6-0, 150) started the season on the freshman team but was moved to varsity in November, where he finished with reps and a touchdown catch in the playoffs. He finished with 47 catches for 734 yards and nine touchdowns for the season.
Freshman Kason Cowan (6-0, 1550) listed an offer from Texas Tech on his Rivals page, and he earned one of the receiver MVP awards. He played varsity this year as a freshman, but did not play Wide receiver. He started at safety towards the end of the season and expects to start at receiver and safety his sophomore year.
YAA Lineman
The top offensive line prospect was Houston junior Ayden Bazy, who tipped the scales at (6-5, 295). He has multiple offers, including UTEP, Toledo, Tennessee State, and Abilene Christian University.
Sophomore offensive tackle Peter MacDonald (6-3, 285) from Lewisville High School has an offer from Colorado State. He plays all positions on the offensive line, and he has the measurables to be a Power 5 starter.
