West Virginia remained undefeated at home convincingly beating Little Rock 90-58 Tuesday night inside the Hope Coliseum.

The victory pushes the Mountaineers to 8-3 on the season with each of those wins coming at home.

The Mountaineers went with a starting lineup that consisted of point guard Jasper Floyd, guard Honor Huff, guard Treysen Eaglestaff, forward Brenen Lorient and center Harlan Obioha.

Huff led the Mountaineers in scoring with 24 points while Eaglestaff scored 23 points and forward Chance Moore finished with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Huff made eight three pointers for the second time this season, one shy of the school record, while Eaglestaff hit five from deep.

As a team the Mountaineers were 15-30 from three.

Eaglestaff opened the scoring with a three-ball on the first possession and Obioha would score the next four to give the Mountaineers an early 7-2 lead. Amir Jenkins would then enter the game and score the next five points for West Virginia to make it an early 12-4 edge at the 15:44 mark.

Moore would then steal the ball and finish with a dunk on the other end to make it 18-4 at the 13:01 mark and force Little Rock to use a timeout. The Mountaineers pushed their edge out to 33-11 with 7:12 remaining in the first half after three consecutive threes by Huff.

Huff would hit his fourth three of the first half to give the Mountaineers a 36-14 lead before the Trojans answered with one of their own to cut into the deficit. Huff and Eaglestaff would add to their three-point totals to push West Virginia ahead 44-21 with only two minutes remaining in the half.

The Mountaineers would take a 47-23 lead into the break led by Huff’s 15 points.

West Virginia would move ahead 54-27 early in the second half and would continue to keep a healthy distance as the clock ticked toward 15 minutes left to play. The Mountaineers held a 63-33 lead with 12:20 left in the game and from there they would coast to their eighth victory on the season.

The Mountaineers will next travel to Cleveland Saturday to take on Ohio State in a neutral site contest.
