West Virginia’s 2025 baseball class ranked No. 16 nationally by Perfect Game
Perfect Game has released its final 2025 recruiting class rankings, and West Virginia checks in at No. 16 in the country. That puts the Mountaineers among the nation’s elite, slotted ahead of programs like Florida, UCLA, and Oregon.
Highlighting the top signees
The class is led by six players who earned a spot in Perfect Game’s national top 500:
- Zahir Barjam – SS, P27 Academy (SC), ranked No. 154 nationally
- David Perez – SS, Archbishop Ryan (PA), ranked No. 167 nationally
- Ben Goodacre – RHP, Ancaster (ON), ranked No. 203 nationally
- Colton Sims – 3B, Shawnee Mission East (KS), ranked No. 238 nationally
- Keegan Russell – RHP, All Saints (ON), ranked No. 340 nationally
- Wyatt Mosley – LHP, Dansville (MI), ranked No. 442 nationally
Each of those recruits was recognized among the top 500 players in the country, giving WVU a balanced mix of high-end position players and power arms.
National context
Tennessee, Texas, and Arkansas claimed the top three spots in the Perfect Game rankings, with Virginia, Miami, and LSU rounding out the top six. West Virginia’s No. 16 ranking is one of the best in program history and once again highlights the recruiting ability of head coach Steve Sabins.
What it means for WVU
This class strengthens WVU’s foundation as the Mountaineers continue to compete in one of the nation’s toughest conferences. With multiple nationally ranked prospects, the 2025 group has the potential to make an immediate impact in Morgantown and build on the program’s momentum.
