Highly recruited freshman to visit Alabama twice this fall
Julian Lewis is only a freshman, but has close to 30 offers including Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Texas and Texas A&M. Lewis earned an offer from Nick Saban after his camp performance in early June. He has two return visits scheduled to Alabama this fall.
He will attend Alabama’s game against Texas A&M. He is also schedule to return for the Iron Bowl. I think it’s still a little too early to predict where he will sign, but with multiple visits to Alabama this year we can expect the Tide as a top contender when that time comes.
“Of course, it was big. That’s been my dream school since I was a little kid,” Lewis told BamaInsider after receiving his offer from Coach Saban. “That was one of the first schools I’ve visited. It definitely was a big moment and one of the biggest offers you could get. The offer was an honor. It was a blessing.”
Lewis has 975 yards passing with 14 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions to help lead Carrollton (Ga.) to a 4-0 record this season.
Chad Simmons, On3 Sports Director of Recruiting, had this to say about Lewis after watching him play last month. “I love his composure as much, if not more, than anything else. After throwing five touchdowns in game one, he came back Friday with four touchdown passes in game two. He is only a freshman, and he still has a lot of room to grow and develop, but he is calm, cool, and collected at a high profile position. Yes, physical tools mean a lot when talking quarterbacks, but there is a lot more than those to being successful on the next level. He’s passed that text early.”
