Alabama and Georgia will meet in one of the 2025 college football season’s most anticipated games on Saturday, September 27. The Crimson Tide will travel to Athens, Ga., for the first time since 2015 and look to continue its impressive streak against the Bulldogs. Alabama has won nine out of the last 10 meetings with UGA, dating back to the 2008 campaign.

But the Crimson Tide will need to prove it can win on the road, and Sanford Stadium is one of the toughest places to play in the country. Georgia has won 33 straight home games, while UA is 2-4 in true road games, so far, in head coach Kalen DeBoer’s first two years. Alabama has looked much better in its last two games after losing at Florida State in Week 1.

The first SEC game for the Crimson Tide will also be the first conference start for quarterback Ty Simpson, who was on a roll before the idle week. In his last two contests, Simpson has thrown more touchdown passes (7) than incompletions (5). But facing this Georgia defense — and road crowd — will be the biggest challenge of the Alabama quarterback’s career.

UA will also be facing UGA quarterback Gunner Stockton for the first time. Stockton will make his fifth-ever start on Saturday (6:30 p.m. CT on ABC) and is coming off a big road win over the Tennessee Vols before the Bulldogs’ bye week. Stockton, who also leads Georgia in rushing touchdowns (3), recorded his first 300-yard passing game in the 44-41 victory.

Before the SEC clash between the hedges, BamaOnLine staff writers Charlie Potter and Blake Byler discuss the Tide-Dawgs matchup, as well as the next four years of SEC opponents for the Tide. The conference foes for the 2026-29 seasons were announced earlier this week.

The Alabama-related topics discussed by the guys include:

– Thoughts on Alabama’s future SEC opponents

– Good/bad injury news for the Crimson Tide

– The guys’ favorite UA-UGA games of the past

– Looking at Alabama offense vs. Georgia defense

– Same for Georgia offense vs. Alabama defense
