BOL Video: Alabama adds WR Owen Cabell to 2026 class
Welcome back to the BamaOnLine Recruiting Show. Publisher Tim Watts and senior recruiting editor Andrew Bone are here to break down Alabama’s newest commitment in the 2026 class: wide receiver Owen Cabell.
Cabell is a 6-foot-3 wide receiver with great ball skills and speed, hailing from Chris Presbyterian Academy in Nashville, Tennessee. He was very recently offered by the Tide, only taking four weeks between receiving his offer on June 2 and making his commitment.
He’s rated as a 3-star prospect in the 2026 class according to the On3 Industry Rankings, coming in as the No. 144 wide receiver and the No. 32 player in the state of Tennessee at the time of his commitment.

Alabama beat out Vanderbilt and Illinois for Cabell’s pledge, two schools that had been on him for much longer than the Tide. He took an official visit to Vanderbilt three days before Alabama offered, but visited the Tide both unofficially and officially after he was offered and made his decision shortly after.
Griffin becomes Alabama’s fifteenth commitment in the 2026 class and the first wide receiver Other commitments include 5-star cornerback Jorden Edmonds, 5-star running back Ezavier Crowell, 5-star linebacker Xavier Griffin, 4-star quarterback Jett Thomalla, 4-star cornerback Zyan Gibson, 4-star tight end Mack Sutter, 4-star edge rusher Jamarion Matthews, 4-star defensive lineman Kamhariyan Johnson, 4-star offensive linemen Chris Booker and Sam Utu, 4-star running back Javari Barnett, 3-star defensive lineman JJ Finch, 3-star safety Rihyael Kelley, and 3-star linebacker Zay Hall.
