How Alabama commits performed last week (11/10-11/12)

Future members of the Alabama Crimson Tide’s football program continue to show out on the gridiron.

Last week, Bama’s commits in the 2023, 2024, and even 2025 classes had stellar playoff performances. It was a big week for the Tide’s star running back duo of Justice Haynes and Richard Young with a couple of Alabama quarterback pledges leading their teams to victory as well.

2023 Crimson Tide commitments stand out in playoff wins

** Did not play due to injury: Cole Adams, Dylan Lonergan and Tony Mitchell

DB Bray Hubbard: Completed 16-of-20 passes for 273 yards and two touchdowns in Ocean Springs’ 49-21 win over Northwest Rankin on Friday. Hubbard also had 12 rushing attempts for 112 yards and two more touchdowns, as well as two interceptions on defense.

DB Caleb Downs: One pass breakup in Mill Creek’s 59-22 first-round victory over Meadowcreek on Saturday.

QB Eli Holstein: Threw for 188 yards on 12 completions and a touchdown pass in Zachary’s 42-7 victory over St. Amant on Friday.

WR Jalen Hale: In a rainy night, Hale had two rushing attempts for 40 yards, including a 25-yard touchdown run, in Longview’s 49-15 playoff win over Crosby on Friday.

RB Justice Haynes: Rushed for 159 yards and also two touchdowns in Buford’s 63-6 first-round playoff win against Peachtree Ridge on Saturday.

RB Richard Young: Young had 218 rushing yards on 15 carries and two touchdowns on the ground in Lehigh’s 31-24 victory over Palmetto in the first round of the playoffs.

WR Malik Benson: Four receptions for 75 yards (long of 67) and also a touchdown in Hutchinson C.C.’s 29-28 win over Iowa Western C.C.

OL Olaus Alinen: The Loomis Chaffee School (7-1) defeated Kent School 50-0 in a regular season game on Saturday.

OL Miles McVay: East St. Louis defeated Crete-Monee 45-0 in the third round of the playoffs on Saturday.

K Conor Talty: Two field goals of 25 and 42 yards in St. Rita’s 28-7 victory over St. Charles North on Saturday in the third round of the playoffs.

OL Ryqueze McElderry: Anniston (11-0) beat Booker T. Washington 38-20 on Friday in the second round of the playoffs.

** No stats were made available for defensive lineman Hunter Osborne, whose team (Hewitt-Trussville) lost to Hoover in the playoffs by a score of 28-11.

2024 Alabama commitments

QB Julian Sayin — According to Bodie de Silva of Scorebook Live, Sayin had 284 passing yards and three total touchdowns (two passing and also one rushing) in Carlsbad’s 37-0 first round playoff win over Poway on Thursday.

** No stats were made available for tight end Martavious Collins following Rome High’s 49-0 victory against Paulding County on Friday.

2025 pledge Ryan Williams had a big night

WR Ryan Williams: Williams hauled in eight receptions for 240 yards and three receiving touchdowns. He also had two rushing touchdowns and a passing touchdown in Saraland’s 56-31 win over Hillcrest in the second round of the playoffs.
