How to watch, listen to No. 9 Alabama at No. 8 Oklahoma in CFP First Round
The College Football Playoff is here, and the month-long event will be kicked off by a first-round matchup on Friday night between No. 9 Alabama and No. 8 Oklahoma in Norman.
This game is a rematch of a regular season meeting between these two teams, a game Oklahoma won in Bryant-Denny Stadium on Nov. 15, 23-21.
Alabama is coming into the game off a loss, remaining in the 12-team field after a brutal performance against Georgia in the SEC Championship Game. The Crimson Tide is 10-3 after a 10-2 regular season and the loss in the conference title game.
Oklahoma finished the regular season 10-2 and didn’t qualify for the SEC title game. The Sooners are riding a 4-game win streak since its loss to fellow playoff team Ole Miss on Oct. 25, having beaten Tennessee, Alabama, Missouri and LSU in the last four weeks of the season.
This is both teams’ first appearance in the 12-team playoff field, but Alabama’s ninth and Oklahoma’s fifth appearance in the CFP as a whole. The two teams have met in the CFP once, a 45-34 Alabama win in the 2018 Orange Bowl.
Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer is 0-2 against Oklahoma in his career, including this season’s home loss and road loss in Norman to the Sooners last season.
