Former Alabama running back Bo Scarbrough has only been in the USFL for two weeks. Yet, he’s already making an impact for the Birmingham Stallions, who signed him back on May 9. On Tuesday, Scarbrough was named the league’s Offensive Player of the Week for his performance this past Saturday.

In a 33-17 victory over the Michigan Panthers, Scarbrough ran for 105 yards and a touchdown on just 16 carries.

The win now moves the Stallions to 6-0, keeping the perfect record intact.

Scarbrough was originally brought in to alleviate Birmingham’s loss at running back after an injury to CJ Marble. The team’s starter had rushed 303 yards and three touchdowns through the first five games, but Scarbrough’s performance on Saturday could have decision-makers rethinking the pecking order.

Scarbrough played three seasons for Alabama.

During that time, he turned 267 carries into 1,512 yards and 20 scores before being a seventh-round pick in 2018. After spending time on five different NFL rosters from 2018-21, the 6-foot-1, 235-pound running back shifted his focus towards the USFL a couple of weeks ago.

So far, that decision seems to be paying off.

Here are some of Scarbrough’s top highlights from Saturday:

Coming out of IMG Academy in 2014, Bo Scarbrough was a five-star prospect who rated as the No. 14 overall player, No. 2 running back and No. 1 player from the state of Florida, according to the On3 Consensus. He ultimately chose the Crimson Tide over other programs such as Notre Dame, Ole Miss and Arkansas.
