Live Updates: Wilky Denaud Commitment Ceremony
FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA — Four-star edge Wilky Denaud of John Carroll High is ready to make his college commitment. The 6-foo-4, 250-pound Denaud is down to Auburn, Florida State, Indiana, and Tennessee.
The No. 39 edge prospect nationally in the On3 Consensus will announce his commitment around 5:30 p.m. ET. As it stands at 4:45 p.m. ET, Auburn is the heavy favorite to land Denaud, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). The Tigers sit at 93.8% on the RPM, while FSU is second at 3.3%.

5:48 p.m. ET: Denaud’s mom says she would have preferred for him to stay in state. But she said her son really loved the coach and staff at Auburn. She is happy with the choice and so is his father.
5:42 p.m. ET: Denaud is now taking photos with his teammates. Everybody seem to approve of the choice. There are at least seven or eight people here wearing Auburn T-shirts.
5:33 p.m. ET: Wilky Denaud has committed to Auburn. It’s official.
5:32 p.m. ET: Denaud says the team he picks is getting a well-educated player/student.
5:32 p.m. ET: Denaud says finding a place where he can be himself is important.
5:31 p.m. ET: The ceremony has started.
5:30 p.m. ET: Before Denaud makes his choice, his coach is going to say a few words.
5:29 p.m. ET: There are about 75 people here watching. The ceremony is starting in 30 seconds.
5:27 p.m. ET: The ceremony is about to start.
5:25 p.m. ET: The ceremony is starting in a couple minutes. His family is now sitting with him.
5:15 p.m. ET: Wilky is sitting alone up at the table. Four hats from left: Auburn, FSU, Tennessee, Indiana. The ceremony is in his high school gym and is starting in 15 minutes.

5:05 p.m. ET: Wilky plans to take off a jacket and reveal a t-shirt for the school of his choice.
4:53 p.m. ET: Denaud’s coach, Mickey Groody, tells Auburn Live and On3 that the best thing about Denaud is that he’s just scratching the surface. He plays 3 sports (hoops and track, too) so he has never just put all his time into football.
4:39 p.m. ET: Denaud just arrived at the school. He’s outside in the parking lot hanging out with family and friends at the moment.
4:29 p.m. ET: I talked to Denaud’s coach, Mickey Groody, a little earlier. He was high school teammates with former Tigers kicker Wes Byrum.
4:24 p.m. ET: Denaud’s parents just arrived at the school. Their son should be here any minute. They are excited to say the least.
