Clemson outfielder enters transfer portal

Clemson baseball outfielder Chad Fairey has entered the transfer portal, Clemson Sports has learned.
The redshirt sophomore hit .235 with three doubles, one home run and 17 RBIs this past season.
Fairey appeared in 33 games, with 26 starts in 2022. In total, he started 52 games in his Clemson career.
In addition to Fairey, pitcher Alex Edmondson also entered the transfer portal within the past few days.
The righty appeared in 11 games last season and went 2-0 with a 4.66 ERA. Edmondson finished his sophomore season with 17 strikeouts in 9 2/3 innings. However, he walked nine batters.

Clemson has had six other players enter the transfer portal since the regular season ended.
Pitcher Ricky Williams, pitcher P.J. Labriola, outfielder Spencer Rich, outfielder Camden Troyer, outfielder Dylan Brewer and catcher Jonathan French have also entered the portal since the season ended.
Brewer, Williams and French have since committed to South Carolina. Troyer has committed to Liberty.
While Clemson is losing some players to the transfer, the Tigers are also bringing some in.
New head coach Erik Bakich has already landed commitments from Michigan transfers Riley Bertram and Willie Weiss.
