Details released for Clemson spring game, including no Howard's Rock

CLEMSON — The details for Clemson’s spring game on April 9 have been released and there will be plenty of changes from the regular season.

The most notable difference — Howard’s Rock will not be in attendance.

Clemson is currently working on its new video board, and Howard’s Rock has been temporarily moved to a different location while the construction takes place.

One tradition that will take place for the spring game is the Tiger Walk, which will begin at 11:30 a.m. ahead of the 1 p.m. kickoff. The Tiger Walk will be held in the Lot 5 parking lot.

Parking lots for the spring game will open at 8 a.m. Handicap parking is available at North Lot (C-7) and Centennial Lot (C-9). All other parking will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

In addition to construction meaning there will be no Howard’s Rock, there will also be areas of the stadium where seating will be unavailable.

The West stands and marked areas of the lower deck will be off limits due to construction. The East area around the hill will also be unavailable.

Gates to Clemson’s Memorial Stadium will open at 11:30 a.m. for the spring game. Admission is free, and no tickets are required. There will also not be reserved seating.

Fans are asked to primarily enter through gates 1, 5, 9, and 13. North Upper Deck (Gate 20) will be opened if needed. Fans should also be aware of construction and allow extra time to enter the stadium. 

The Clemson spring game will be televised by the ACC Network and streamed on WatchESPN. Audio will be available via the Clemson Athletic Network & ClemsonTigers.com. Don Munson and Tim Bourret will be on the call.

The spring game will offer Clemson fans an opportunity to see several talented freshmen for the first time, including quarterback Cade Klubnik, receiver Adam Randall and cornerback Toriano Pride.

Clemson will open the regular season about five months after the spring game, playing Georgia Tech on Sept. 5 in Atlanta.
