Clemson baseball has its new pitching coach

Clemson baseball coach Erik Bakich is set to hire Jimmy Belanger as his new pitching coach, Clemson Sports confirmed Thursday evening.
The move is expected to be officially announced as soon as Friday.
Belanger was previously the pitching coach at Florida State, where he put together an excellent staff.
FSU had one of the best pitching staffs in the ACC this past season, finishing fourth in team ERA at 4.24. The Seminoles also led the ACC in strikeouts this year with 694, 48 more than any other team in the league.

In 2021, FSU led the ACC in team ERA, strikeouts, and strikeout-to-walk ratio. The Seminoles were also in the top 10 nationally in all three categories that year.
Prior to coming to Florida State, Belanger spent time as an assistant at Kentucky, Maryland and Monmouth.
