Clemson will be without its second-leading tackler for Saturday night’s game against Boston College.

Safety Tyler Venables did not make the trip to BC, Brent Venables announced during his press conference Saturday afternoon.

Clemson Sports reported earlier this week that Tyler Venables could miss the game. According to Brent Venables, Tyler is out after suffering a concussion during a moped accident earlier this week.

We can also confirm that safety RJ Mickens will not play against BC.

Tyler Venables has 28 tackles, including 1 tackle for loss, so far this season. Mickens is Clemson’s fourth-leading tackler with 24. He has started each of the past three games.

The Tigers could be down other pieces in the secondary, Clemson Sports has learned.
