GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Just days before the team will meet for fall camp, the Florida Gators have added one more player to the roster. On Wednesday, the team announced EDGE Qunicy Ivory had enrolled at Florida. Ivory will have three years of eligibility and will be on scholarship this season.

Ivory played quarterback and linebacker last season at East Los Angeles College. On defense, he recorded 8 sacks, 12.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries in 10 games as a freshman. While Ivory played on both sides of the ball at East Los Angeles College, he play solely on defense for the Gators.

Ivory is a rare late addition to the roster. At SEC Media Days head coach Billy Napier touted that 93% of their 2023 roster was on campus for spring camp.

Ivory is one of the few late-comers for the program heading into 2023, as Florida held 93% of the roster it will field this season on campus for the spring practice sessions.

The summer arrivals included wide receiver Eugene Wilson III, cornerback Dijon Johnson, offensive lineman Caden Jones and defensive lineman Gavin Hill from the high school ranks. The Gators also added offensive lineman Lyndell Hudson Jr., safety RJ Moten and running back Jakobi Jackson.

The addition of Ivory gives the Gators 84 scholarship players for the 2023 football season. Players will report on Saturday, July 30 and fall camp will begin on July 31.

Quincy Ivory commits to Florida Gators

Ivory took a visit to Florida back in June. Shortly after the JUCO EDGE prospect committed to the Gators.

“First and foremost, I want to thank God for putting me in a position to play at the next level … again,” he wrote on Twitter. “I want to thank my family for always supporting me no matter the circumstances. I want to give a special shoutout to my brothers and coaches at ELAC for holding me to a higher standard and continuing to push me every day. There is so many more people I wish I had time to thank but the real ones know who they are. Never in a million years would I have guessed this was my journey. My story is untold, unheard but still being written. I want to thank Coach Napier, Coach Armstrong, Coach Peterson, Joe Hamilton, and Jacob LaFrance for showing me why Gainesville, Florida is where I need to be. With that being said Gator Country, let’s make history.
