One of Florida State’s most coveted prospects for the 2025 class, four-star running back Alvin Henderson, was back in Tallahassee for the Syracuse game on Saturday. And the Seminoles made another positive impression.

“It was pretty good. I was glad I got to come back down here,” Henderson said. “It’s been a minute since I’ve been at Florida State. I think it’s been a few months. So I was happy I got to watch them play a game and talk to the coaches after. …

“Like Florida State. They still sit high because you know they were recruiting me early on, and they always kept it real with me. So I ain’t going to switch up, because they never switched up. So they most definitely sit high.”

Henderson, who hails from Elba, Ala., said he will be back at FSU for the Miami game in a few weeks and added that he has no visits planned to other schools at this time.

According to the On3 Industry Rankings, the 5-foot-9, 185-pound prospect is listed as the 88th-best player in the country, eighth-best running back, and ninth-best player in the state of Alabama.

This is a recruitment Florida State has been involved with for quite some time, and Henderson said his relationships with the coaches are only growing stronger. He has gotten close to head coach Mike Norvell, running backs coach and Florida State recruiting coordinator David “Coach YAC” Johnson, and senior offensive analyst Austin Tucker.

“I’m talking to them at least twice a week,” Henderson said after watching FSU roll to a 41-3 win over Syracuse. “I just got done talking to [Coach Johnson]. He’s just same old, same old. They’re telling me I’m their guy, and they’re trying to do everything they can to get me to come here.”

As for the product on the field, the four-star running back was very impressed with what he saw.

“I’ve been seeing on TV how dominant they were, but I actually got to see it in person,” Henderson said. “How the offense and the defense [are] flowing and moving around. … The run game’s going well, and also the pass game. It’s opening up too, so I like how they’re moving around.”

In a separate interview Sunday with On3’s Chad Simmons, Henderson raved about the environment at Doak Campbell Stadium.

“The atmosphere was like no other,” he said. “They had the chant going, and all of the fans were involved. It was loud. The team played well too. Seeing the offense being able to score and do whatever they needed to stood out to me. The way the defense dominated was impressive.”

According to the On3 Recruiting Machine, home-state Auburn has a large lead in Henderson’s recruitment. But the fact that the Seminoles expect to get him back on campus next month, and he has no other visits currently scheduled, can only be seen as a positive sign.
