The Florida State men’s basketball team has landed yet another top-75 commitment as four-star combo guard Brandon Bass Jr. chose Florida State over Purdue and LSU on Thursday.

As reported by Warchant, Florida State has been trending in this recruitment since his official visit for Florida State’s football game against Alabama.

Bass is the son of former NBA player Brandon Bass, who played for multiple teams over a 10-year span.

According to Rivals, Bass is the 75th-best player in the country, as well as the second-best combo guard and the 11th-ranked player in Florida.

“FSU fans can expect an exciting brand of basketball. I’m coming in ready to compete and make big shots,” Bass told Rivals’ Joe Tipton. “And with the talent we have plus the coaching staff’s vision, we’re going to do something special. I can’t wait to play in front of you all and bring energy to Tallahassee!”

FSU seemed to have an inside track in Bass’ recruitment because his high school coach, Brian Hoff, played at Florida State with Loucks. The Seminoles’ head coach also knows Bass’ father through NBA connections.

This is FSU’s third top-75 commitment in the 2026 cycle and fourth total. The Seminoles are the only team in the country with three commits of such a high caliber.
