Bills take FSU WR Keon Coleman with first pick of second round
He came to Florida State to be part of a great football team and to improve his draft stock.

Keon Coleman made the most of his one season in Tallahassee, racking up 50 catches for 658 yards and 11 touchdowns, and now he’s going to have a lot more money in his bank account as well.
The Louisiana native was selected with the first pick of the second round by the Buffalo Bills on Friday night, becoming the second FSU player from the 2023 team drafted. Jared Verse was taken 19th overall by the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night.
As the 33rd overall pick, Coleman is guaranteed to make an estimated $9.995 million dollars over the course of the four-year contract. That includes a signing bonus of just over $4 million.
He is the 39th second-round pick in Florida State history.
In many years, the 6-foot-4 Coleman would have been a sure first-round selection, but there was a staggering depth of talent at the wideout position for this draft. He wound up being the eighth wide receiver taken in the first 33 picks overall.
His rare blend of size and athleticism makes him an appealing playmaking option at the next level. Plus, Coleman played the second half of the 2023 season dealing with an injury that hampered him throughout the final six weeks.
He still made a number of big plays in the passing game and also added two pivotal punt returns as well — a 32-yarder against Virginia Tech and a 57-yarder against Miami.
The Michigan State transfer doesn’t figure to be the only Florida State player taken tonight either, as the second and third rounds continue on both ESPN and the NFL Network.
