Just a day after Warchant reported that four-star center Marcis Ponder would be officially visiting Florida State for the Alabama game, Rivals’ Joe Tipton reports that the four-star center has committed to FSU over Indiana, Illinois, Providence, Cincinnati, Texas and Miami.

According to Rivals, Ponder is the No. 67 recruit in his class, as well as the sixth-best center in the country.

“Honestly, FSU recruited me the hardest,” Ponder told Rivals’ Joe Tipton. “They came to every single one of my games in the Spring and Summer Live Periods for both AAU and High School.”

The highly-touted 7-footer is originally from Miami and played at West Oaks Academy in Orlando before following his head coach, Kenny Gillion, to Gillion’s new academy in Virginia.

Florida State assistant coach Gerald Gillion, who is the older brother of Ponder’s coach, obviously played a major role in this recruitment

As Ponder confirmed with Warchant on Monday, he will be on campus for the Alabama football game on Aug. 30.
