While the Florida State football team brought in a slew of impressive transfers this offseason, the Seminoles also lost 19 players to the transfer portal.

Through the first month of the 2023 season, 15 of those players have seen time on the field with their new programs. A few have even made significant impacts.

With FSU off this weekend, let’s take a look at how the most recent former Seminoles have done on the field so far.

Former Florida State starting running back Treshaun Ward has had the best season so far. As a Kansas State Wildcat, he currently has 168 yards and one touchdown on 37 carries. He also has 7 receptions for 72 yards and a touchdown.

North Carolina linebacker Amari Gainer turned a lot of heads early in the year when he had two sacks and four quarterback hurries against South Carolina in Week One. Since then, he has only had three tackles and two pass breakups.

WR Mycah Pittman, who spent one year at Florida State before transferring to Utah, has three receptions for 20 yards going into Friday night’s game against Oregon State. He also has five punt returns for 33 yards.

Offensive lineman Zane Herring has been key for USF in the first month. He sat out the Alabama game, but besides that has played 194 snaps for the Bulls.

Offensive tackle Lloyd Willis has played 133 snaps for the Marshall Thundering Herd.

Former FSU linebacker Stephen Dix Jr. also made his way to Marshall this offseason and has had seven tackles in three games.

Wide receiver Malik McClain has made some plays at Penn State. So far, he has six receptions for 21 yards and a touchdown. That lone score came against West Virginia in Week One.

Former four-star safety Sam McCall has not seen the field a lot at Texas A&M. He has only played 18 snaps and has not had any notable stats in that time.

Defensive back Malik Feaster has recorded one tackle and played 24 snaps at Memphis.

Defensive tackle Jarrett Jackson has had one tackle and one quarterback hurry at Michigan State. He has only played in one of four games so far.

Defensive back Omarion Cooper and defensive lineman Bishop Thomas are the only two of the FSU-to-Colorado transfers who have played all four games this season. Cooper has had 18 tackles and two pass breakups. Thomas has only had two tackles in the first month.

Defensive end Derrick McLendon did not play for Colorado against Nebraska but did play in the other three games. In those games, he had four tackles and two quarterback hurries. Both hurries came against TCU in Fort Worth.

Defensive back Travis Jay and linebacker Brendan Gant saw their first action for the Buffaloes last week against Oregon. In 22 snaps, Jay gave up two receptions for 25 yards. Those were the only two times he was targeted. Gant played three snaps and had no significant statistics.

WR Keyshawn Helton (Cincinnati), DL Antavious Woody (UAB) and OL Rod Orr (Toledo) have not seen the field for their new teams. In addition, cornerback Demorie Tate has yet to land with a new school.
