Two days after scoring 20 times in a run-rule victory against Clemson, the FSU bats apparently have not cooled off very much.

Led by second baseman Drew Faurot, who went 4-for-4 with two home runs, the FSU baseball team cruised to another run-rule win Tuesday night against visiting Jacksonville. The Seminoles scored only once in the first three innings, but a four-run fourth and a nine-run fifth paved the way to a 14-2 victory.

It marked the second straight game in which Faurot blasted a pair of home runs.

The game was called in the seventh inning, as Florida State improved to 34-10 on the season. Jacksonville fell to 27-19.

With their pitching staff at less than 100 percent, the Seminoles gave the start Tuesday to junior left-hander Jacob Marlowe, who had pitched just 6 2/3 innings all season. Marlowe was up to the challenge, pitching three scoreless frames, and Maison Martinez came on and delivered two more shutout innings.

By the time the visiting Dolphins got on the scoreboard in the sixth, they were already trailing 14-0.

While Faurot swung the biggest bat for FSU, shortstop Alex Lodise also went 2-for-2 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored, and third baseman Cal Fisher went 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs.

This marked FSU’s final midweek game of the 2025 regular season. The Seminoles now will travel out west to face Cal for a three-game series before finishing the regular season at home against North Carolina.
