BREAKING! Star Florida State DE Jared Verse coming back for 2023 season

Florida State’s 2023 defense just got a whole lot better. Defensive end Jared Verse, who emerged this season as one of the nation’s top pass-rushers, is coming back to Florida State for another season.
He made his announcement on social media on Saturday.
Verse, who transferred to Florida State last year from FCS program Albany, filled in quite nicely for 2022 NFL first-round pick Jermaine Johnson. While he didn’t put up quite the same numbers individually, Verse’s impact was essential to the Seminoles making great strides defensively overall.

Verse, who chose Florida State over a long list of suitors following the 2021 season, was one of two Florida State defenders to earn first-team All-ACC honors this year, along with safety Jammie Robinson.
Verse joins a growing number of starters who have announced their returns in 2023, including defensive tackle Fabien Lovett, linebackers Kalen DeLoach and Tatum Bethune, and cornerbacks Renardo Green and Jarrian Jones.
