The No. 8 Virginia baseball team scored unearned runs in the bottom of the ninth and 10th innings Friday to beat Florida State, 3-2, in front of 3,006 fans at Disharoon Park in Charlottesville, Va. Virginia improved to 14-0 at home with the victory.

Starting pitcher Jackson Baumeister allowed just one run in 5.0 innings, while the FSU relievers did not allow an earned run in 4.2 innings.

FSU led for the first half of the game after DeAmez Ross led off with a walk and scored on Ben Barrett’s groundout. After the Cavaliers tied it in the sixth inning, FSU was working out of trouble for the back half of the game. Andrew Armstrong faced the bases loaded with no outs in the eighth inning when he got a strikeout and a double play to keep the game tied.
