Florida State coach Mike Norvell acknowledged Monday that star quarterback Jordan Travis didn’t feel great physically after Saturday’s game at Boston College.

The Seminoles’ senior starter sustained an undisclosed injury to what appeared to be his left arm or shoulder during the second quarter and left the game briefly before playing the entire second half. But Norvell said he has no concerns about Travis’ availability for this Saturday’s game at Clemson.

“I’m not worried about what his health will be moving forward,” Norvell said.

Travis, who has completed 53 of 84 passes this season for 729 yards, has thrown for eight touchdowns with one interception.

He will face a Clemson squad that ranks No. 10 nationally in pass defense, allowing just 148.7 yards per game. The Tigers are allowing just 4.6 yards per pass attempt, which ranks tied for No. 4 in the nation, and they have intercepted four passes while allowing one touchdown.

When Travis went down after a hard tackle late in the second quarter, he briefly went into the injury tent and then skipped the final kneel-down before halftime. But he played the entire second half, and offensive coordinator Alex Atkins said Monday he has gotten to the point where he never questions whether Travis will be available.

“Jordan’s tough, man,” Atkins said. “We have to protect Jordan from Jordan sometimes. I think on one play, he lowered his shoulder on the sideline and things like that. But Jordan’s tough. He’s the leader, and those guys know it. There’s no concern. Our guys understand what Jordan has been through and how much he’s had to fight through in order to get to this position, and his toughness has been displayed multiple, multiple times.

“I know people on the outside say, ‘Oh my God,’ (when Travis is hurt). But it’s almost like we have a deal where, ‘He’ll be all right.’ Because we’ve seen him fight through so much.”

No. 3/4 Florida State (3-0) is a 1.5-point favorite for Saturday’s noon game; the Tigers are ranked No. 23 in the coaches’ poll but unranked in the AP Top 25.

Clemson has won seven straight games in the series. Florida State hasn’t won in Death Valley since the 2013 national championship season.

Here are extensive updates from Monday’s interviews with Norvell, Atkins, defensive coordinator Adam Fuller and special teams coordinator John Papuchis.
