Florida State's Lottie Woad finishes 3rd at Major, earns LPGA Tour Card

Florida State golfer Lottie Woad finished in third place Sunday at The Evian Championship, one of five Major championships in women’s golf.
Woad actually had the clubhouse lead at 13-under par when she finished her fourth round with a 64. Prior to that, she shot 68-69-70.
Tying for third with Minjee Lee, this year’s KPMG Women’s PGA Champion and sister of PGA Tour pro Min Woo Lee, Woad also earned her LPGA Tour card. Woad is the first golfer to earn her card through the LPGA’s LEAP program.
Since she was playing as an amateur, Woad lost out on over $500,000 in winnings for finishing in the top three. But now that she has earned her card, it is expected that she will drop her amateur status and turn professional.
Woad’s Florida State teammate Mirabel Ting, the No. 1 player in women’s college golf this season, announced her intentions of going pro a few weeks ago and made her debut this week at the Evian Championship.

Woad has enjoyed a very decorated career at Florida State. She has been ranked the No. 1 amateur in the world for the better part of two years now, and she won this year’s Women’s Irish Open just last week.
The England native also holds a place in the Florida State records books with the lowest career stroke average in FSU history.
