FSU expected to hire Brandon Harris as CBs coach; Other moves in works

It took a little while to get going, but Florida State’s coaching and staff changes appear to be coming into focus.

The Seminoles didn’t have to look far to find a replacement for Patrick Surtain as cornerbacks coach, as Brandon Harris is expected to take that position, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

Harris, who is the brother of FSU wide receivers coach Tim Harris Jr., was on the Seminoles’ staff as an analyst in Mike Norvell’s first season in 2020. He most recently coached defensive backs at UCF.

The Seminoles also are targeting Tulsa assistant head coach Kam Martin as running backs coach, according to multiple reports, but he is being pursued by other schools as well.

And Florida State general manager of personnel Darrick Yray is being targeted for a similar position at UCLA, according to CBS national college football report Matt Zenitz.

FSU is expected to announce several front-office changes as part of a staff restricting following the Seminoles’ second consecutive sub-.500 season.
