FSU football recruiting roundtable with On3/Rivals' Steve Wiltfong -- Warchant TV

Recruiting weekends don’t get much bigger than when FSU takes on Miami. It’s a critical moment in the Seminoles’ season both for recruiting and the on-field product. A good result for Florida State means it can deliver another massive jolt to the 2026 class and beyond.
On3/Rivals vice president of college football recruiting Steve Wiltfong joined Warchant TV to discuss FSU recruiting from the micro level (this weekend’s visitors) and to offer a progress report on how things are going with head coach Mike Norvell‘s staff reboot.
Wiltfong kicks things off by talking about what this weekend means and how an upset win for the ‘Noles over Miami could shake things up.
“Well obviously they are in the thick of it for some flip targets, some guys that were always high on Florida State,” Wiltfong said. “But with the Seminoles coming out and dominating Alabama in the fashion they did, I think recruits are excited about Florida State and the trajectory of this program.”
More from Wiltfong:
Top Flip Target
“I think FSU is on the verge of flipping [2026] tight end Corbyn Fordham. This one looks like it’s going the Seminoles’ way.”

Potential visitor to watch for
“One guy FSU would love on campus is [2026 four-star running back] Derrick Cooper and I’ll be interested to see if he does make it on campus. I think Florida State is the biggest threat to Texas.” Wiltfong added a few sources feel Cooper might not be in Tallahassee this weekend, so that’s a wait-and-see scenario.
Other flip targets
“Kam Wilson, EDGE rusher committed to Syracuse… he’s excited to be in Tallahassee and I talked to him (Tuesday) morning and he thinks Florida State is going to get the ‘W’ against Miami. He spoke highly of the Noles.
“Kaiden Hall [2026 four-star safety, Florida commit] status went from maybe to definite. He will be at Florida State this weekend instead of Gainesville. He’s still excited about his future at Florida but he grew up a Florida State fan, and he’s heard the whispers around Gainesville that we have all heard. This could be a big opportunity for FSU this weekend.”
Wiltfong added that he thinks FSU is in good position for 2026 four-star LB Gregory Batson and 2027 four-star LB Kaden Henderson. Both are expected at FSU.
