FSU lands commitment from North Carolina DE Damaad Lewis
Three-star defensive end Damaad Lewis of Charlotte, N.C., announced on social media Sunday night that he has committed to Florida State.
Lewis, who is rated one of the nation’s top 50 Edge prospects, chose the Seminoles over Nebraska, N.C. State and Texas.
Lewis is the brother of Damien Lewis, a starting offensive guard on the 2019 LSU national championship team, and a current player on the Carolina Panthers. Lewis officially visited Florida State for the Wake Forest game a couple of weeks ago; that was his first time on campus.
“It was amazing,” Lewis told Warchant after the visit. “Spending time with the coaches, the players, the staff. Yeah, I’m rocking with it.”
Lewis’ visit to Florida State was his final official visit, but he did go to the LSU-Arkansas game in recent weeks as well.

According to MaxPreps, in 10 games this season, Lewis had 32 total tackles, seven for loss and four sacks. He also had 15 quarterback hurries.
Lewis is Florida State’s third DE commitment in the last few weeks, joining three-star Chris Carbin and top JUCO prospect Jalen Anderson.
