Florida State head softball coach Lonni Alameda will be inducted in the Florida Sports Hall of Fame 2025 Class, the association announced on Friday night.

Alameda is the 27th person from Florida State to enter the Florida Sports Hall of Fame, and she joins Colleen Walker as the only other FSU female to be inducted into the Florida Sports Hall of Fame.

In 17 seasons at the helm of Florida State Softball, Alameda has taken to the Seminoles to new heights. During her tenure, Florida State has never missed the NCAA Tournament and is one of four schools (FSU, Alabama, Oklahoma and UCLA) to have hosted an NCAA Regional in each of the past 11 seasons.

Alameda has led the Seminoles to the Women’s College World Series five times (2014, 2016, 2018, 2021, 2023), which included the Seminoles’ first Women’s College World Series Championship in 2018.

In each of its last three appearances in Oklahoma City, Florida State has reached the Championship Series (2018, 2021, 2023). Alameda has also led FSU to nine ACC tournament championships and eight ACC regular-season championships in her 17 seasons.

Alameda has recorded over 800 wins at Florida State and has won over 78 percent of her games with the ‘Noles.

Alameda also is regarded as one of the premier pitching coaches in the sport. She has helped seven pitchers be named ACC Pitcher of the Year and has helped the ‘Noles finish top-20 nationally in ERA 13 times.

Alameda has helped 15 Florida State Seminoles earn 21 All-America honors in her 17 seasons. She has won seven ACC Coach of the Year honors and her staff was named the NFCA Coaching Staff of the Year in 2018. Alameda is also a member of the NFCA Hall of Fame (Class of 2023).
