The Florida State football team could be losing a big piece of its offensive attack for 2026 as tight end Randy Pittman has decided to enter the transfer portal, according to a report Tuesday night from On3’s Pete Nakos.

Pittman, who missed multiple games this season due to injury, was one of Florida State’s top targets in the passing game when healthy. He recorded 23 receptions for 208 yards and two touchdowns.

The UCF transfer lined up at multiple spots in Gus Malzahn’s offense, including as a wildcat quarterback. He ran the ball seven times for 37 yards and three touchdowns. In addition to all of that, Pittman even threw a touchdown pass against Virginia.

Florida State-Virginia was probably the best game of Pittman’s time with the Seminoles. He recorded a touchdown pass and run, and he hauled in a game-tying reception to send the game to overtime.

Pittman has been heavily tied to Malzahn his entire career. He signed with him out of high school at UCF and then followed him to Tallahassee when Malzahn took the offensive coordinator job.

The NCAA transfer portal officially opens on Jan. 2 this cycle, and it will remain open for 15 days.

Several Florida State players have announced their plans to enter the transfer portal this week. Here is an updated list of those decisions.
