FSU WR Duce Robinson named semifinalist for Biletnikoff Award

Even though the award is named after a Florida State legend, no Seminole has ever won the Biletnikoff Award, given annually to the top wide receiver in college football.
Florida State junior Duce Robinson has a chance.
Robinson, who transferred in from Southern Cal this off-season, is one of 13 semifinalists for the award, it was announced on Monday. He currently ranks fifth in receiving yards nationally, and second in the Power Four.

Here is the press release from Florida State sports information:
Junior wide receiver Duce Robinson is one of 13 semifinalists for the Biletnikoff Award, presented annually to the nation’s top receiver. The award is named for former Florida State wide receiver Fred Biletnikoff and is presented by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation.
Robinson, from Phoenix, leads Florida State with 49 receptions, 947 yards and five touchdowns. Robinson’s 947 receiving yards and 94.7 receiving yards per game lead the ACC and are fifth nationally. In ACC games, Robinson leads the league with 748 receiving yards and 106.9 yards per game.
Robinson’s five games over 120 yards and three games over 140 yards also lead the ACC and rank second among all FBS receivers. Robinson’s career-high 173 yards against East Texas A&M are the most in the ACC this season.
Robinson is a two-time ACC Receiver of the Week, FSU’s first two-time winner since 2018. He caught five passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns against East Texas A&M without playing the second half. His touchdowns against the Lions came from 42 and 82 yards, FSU’s longest touchdown pass since 2019, and his 160 yards in the first quarter are the most nationally in a quarter this season.
His second player of the week recognition came against Wake Forest, when he caught five passes for 148 yards and a touchdown. Robinson caught passes of 29, 39 and 65 yards before catching an 11-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.
At Virginia in his first ACC game, Robinson caught nine passes for 147 yards and one touchdown, setting a new career high for receptions in a game. He also had nine receptions for 124 yards at Clemson and caught six passes for 134 yards and a 50-yard touchdown vs. Virginia Tech.

He added four catches for 98 yards at Stanford and six receptions for a team-high 87 yards vs. Miami.
Among ACC receivers, Robinson leads the conference in 30-yard and 80-yard catches and ranks top-3 in catches of 10, 20, 40, 50, 60 and 70 yards.
Robinson’s 947 receiving yards are the most for a Seminole since 2019; his 94.7 yards per game would be the most since Biletnikoff Award semifinalist Rashad Greene averaged 97.5 receiving yards over 14 games in 2014.
Robinson and the Seminoles are back in action Friday night at NC State. FSU’s final ACC game of the season will kickoff at 8 p.m. on ESPN.
