High Five targets this week
(1) RB Kameron Davis (FSU commit) (2024)
There’s absolutely no question that Davis. who is still being courted by some of the top schools around the nation, is one of the top running backs in the country. He might be the best overall when it comes to being an explosive playmaker. This week in the High Five, we had to give him that top spot because of his performance in a 32-14 win over Randolph-Clay. One of the best attributes for Davis might be his versatility, as he is the full-time quarterback for the Dougherty Trojans. On Friday night, he threw for 276 yards on 14 of 19 passes. He also accounted for 123 yards on the ground and finished with four touchdowns on the night to help the Trojans improve to 2-0 on the season.
(2) WR Vandrevius Jacobs (FSU commit)
Jacobs showed his dynamic play this summer at the FSU Elite camp, where he was one of the biggest standouts. The three-star Florida State commitment showed flashes of his skills last year. Now he’s the No. 1 guy and he showed that in the season opener as Jacobs finished with 128 yards and two touchdowns. Behind Jacobs’ strong play, Vero Beach easily routed South Fork 54-6.
(3) Linebacker/Athlete Blake Nichelson
There’s not much the major FSU linebacker target can’t do when you look at the numbers in his first two weeks. Six touchdowns on the season in two games on the offensive side of the ball. He has eclipsed the 100-yard mark in both games. Last week, he had 13 carries for 121 yards and four overall touchdowns. On the defensive side, he was equally impressive with nine tackles, three tackles for loss and two sacks. Maneca improved to 2-0 on the season after its 44-0 win over Patterson.
(4) DE Keldric Faulk (FSU commit)
When it comes to production, Faulk is a special talent for Highland Home nearly every week. Faulk certainly made his mark on the defensive side of the ball, where he racked up six tackles and two tackles for loss last weekend in a 34-33 thrilling win over Ariton to move to a perfect 2-0 record. That alone would be impressive. But Faulk also caught a 60-plus-yard touchdown for the second week in a row. One week earlier, he caught a 65 yard touchdown. Doing that as a college defensive end prospect speaks volumes about his athletic ability.

(5) DT Keith Sampson (FSU commit) & RB Sam Singleton (FSU commit)
This one was such a tough call that we decided to give both FSU commits a spot in the High Five. Fleming Island star Sam Singleton ran the ball just three times, but he rushed for 69 yards and scored two touchdowns. Singleton and Fleming Island rolled to a 49-7 win over Clay to start the season 1-0.
Not to be outdone, FSU commitment and defensive tackle Keith Sampson continued to cause all kinds of problems as he racked up six tackles and finished the night with four sacks. Sampson and New Bern rolled to an easy 61-0 rout over Willow Spring to improve to 2-0 on the season.
Honorable mention
DB Damari Brown
In yet another huge national matchup, American Heritage (Plantation) showed how powerful it is once again by rolling Los Alamitos (Calif.), which is led by five-star QB Malachi Nelson, 52-27. Brown was a solid factor as he registered three tackles, two pass breakups and an interception. One week earlier, Heritage cruised in a road contest over Lowndes in Valdosta, Ga., 38-20.
WR Joshisa Trader (2024)
This highly regarded junior got the season off to a strong start for Chaminade as he threw for a touchdown and also had a receiving touchdown. He chipped in over 60 yards receiving to lead the Lions to a 35-28 win over St. John’s (D.C.).
