Is FSU a 'dark horse' for nation's No. 1 offensive tackle? 5-star Brandon Baker shares latest

The On3 NIL Elite Series presented by Mizuno is under way in Nashville, and FSU Football is already making headlines with top recruits in attendance.
In an interview with Josh Newberg and JD PicKell of On3, five-star offensive tackle Brandon Baker was asked what school could be a dark horse in his recruitment.
“I’d say FSU. I really like FSU a lot,” Baker said. “Tennessee’s in the mix as well, so I’d say those two schools.”
Baker last visited Florida State on April 11. He is rated by the On3 Industry Ranking as the No. 1 offensive tackle in the country, the second-best player in the state of California, and the 26th-best player overall nationally.
Oregon is the leader right now for the Mater Dei star, but when asked about FSU offensive coordinator Alex Atkins, he could not stop smiling.

“ That guy, he’s real blunt about things, you know. Straight to the point,” Baker said. “We were just texting the other day. I found this Tiktok or something like that and sent it to him, sent a couple of heart emojis … just joking with him. He sent me a Tiktok right back and kind of sent me a laughing emoji. So being able to have that relationship with the offensive line coach is really something cool.

“Unfortunately when I visited down there he wasn’t there, you know, but that didn’t change anything honestly. They made everything short and sweet. Told me what it was and they weren’t trying to sell anything. So, you know, being able to get down maybe one more time possibly, and watch how he works. A lot of the guys told me that he’s a hard worker, you know. Off the field, he may joke around with you like that, but on the field, he’s on you.”
The five-star prospect said he has visited six or seven schools so far.
“Kind of get a feel for the staff for the offensive line room and really the school as a whole,” he said.
