Luke Clanton, FSU men's golf team build early lead in NCAA Tallahassee Regional
The Florida State men’s golf team was dominant on Day One of the NCAA Tallahassee Regional.
The Seminoles ended the first round Monday in first place at 14-under par. FSU currently holds a seven-shot lead over Notre Dame. Ole Miss, the team that won the last men’s tournament at Seminole Legacy in 2024, sits in third place at 6-under.
Florida State’s strong start also is represented in the individual standings as all five golfers are currently in the top 16, with two in the top five.
The No. 1 amateur golfer in the world, Florida State’s Luke Clanton, leads the tournament individually after firing a 6-under 66, aided by an eagle on the par-five 14th hole. The future PGA Tour player has a one-stroke lead on ACC individual champion Jacob Modleski and Georgia’s Buck Brumlow.
The ACC runner-up, FSU’s Tyler Weaver, is also in contention. He is tied for fourth after shooting a 4-under 68 on the day. He is two strokes back of Clanton.

Florida State redshirt senior Gary Albright and redshirt freshman Carson Brewer both finished the day at 2-under par; they are tied for 11th. Lastly, FSU’s Jack Bigham ended the round with a 1-under 71, putting him in 16th.
Florida State will tee off Round Two starting at 7:30 a.m. ET on Tuesday. Admission for fans is free.
