Reserve linebacker Jayden Parrish plans to leave FSU, enter transfer portal

Florida State redshirt freshman linebacker Jayden Parrish plans to enter the transfer portal, On3’s Pete Nakos reported Thursday.

Parrish came to FSU as a three-star recruit out of Atlantic High School in Delray Beach in the 2024 recruiting class. At the time, the 6-foot-1, 210-pound prospect chose the Seminoles over Auburn.

Former linebackers coach Randy Shannon was a big reason for FSU landing Parrish over the Tigers.

“I feel like he can get me to the next level,” Parrish said at the time.

Shannon was let go after the 2024 season. Parrish did not see the field at all that year, and he only saw action in the Kent State and East Texas A&M games in 2025.

In those two games, he played a total of 23 snaps, totaling three tackles.

Parrish becomes the fifth player from Florida State’s 2024 recruiting class to transfer out, and the sixth to leave the football program. FSU signed 23 players in the class.

The NCAA transfer portal officially opens on Jan. 2 this cycle, and it will remain open for 15 days.
