Staying Home: OL Jakobe Green follows childhood dream, commits to FSU

The Florida State offensive line picked up another piece for the future on Tuesday morning as offensive lineman Jakobe Green announced he has committed to the Seminoles.
Green was previously committed to Mississippi State but backed out of that commitment on Monday night. The three-star prospect played last season at Niceville but plans to finish his high school career at nearby Gadsden County, where he spent many of his younger years.
“Growing up in Quincy, Florida you always dream of being a Nole!” Green stated. “And that dream has come true!
“Growing up in Quincy, Fla., you always dream of being a ‘Nole!” Green told On3’s Steve Wiltfong. “And that dream has come true!”
Green grew up a huge fan of Florida State and attended countless games and camps on the Seminoles’ campus. He posted a photo of himself and Mike Norvell at FSU when he was in the eighth grade shortly after making his commitment.
Green took an official visit to Tallahassee in June, and things have been trending in Florida State’s direction for weeks
“This place means a lot,” Green said when he visited. “During the visit, they had teammates, other guys come in, be around me. And that really meant a lot, so they’re definitely up there.”

Green said he also likes how he would fit into the Florida State offense. He excels as a pulling guard, and FSU’s coaches explained how that would be a big part of their schemes.
Michael’s analysis on Three-star OL Jakobe Green
This was another nice pull for Florida State, which is on a great run now since this past weekend, with several new commitments. While Green is a three-star, I view him higher than On3’s experts do at this stage. I think he’s more of a low four-star talent that can play either tackle or guard at the next level.
He’s a very powerful finisher on blocks and a recruit that several schools showed interest in. It also helps to have a player who is invested emotionally in the program, and Green certainly is that.
