Top-75 recruit Collin Paul commits to FSU men’s basketball

The Florida State men’s basketball team has landed another top-100 national recruit, as four-star small forward Collin Paul committed to the Seminoles on Wednesday.
Paul chose Florida State over Loyola Chicago; Miami was also involved in this recruitment.
According to Rivals, Paul is the 68th-best player in the class of 2026, as well as the 22nd-best small forward and 10th-best recruit in Florida.
This commitment comes following Paul’s official visit to Florida State for the Seminoles’ football game against Alabama last weekend.
Paul told Rivals’ Joe Tipton that the NBA connections on Luke Loucks’ coaching staff was a major draw.
“I trust the coaching staff completely because of their NBA experience and qualifications,” Paul said. “I believe they will help me reach the NBA and develop me as a player.”
Florida State has been on Paul for some time, even before head coach Loucks and company made it to campus. Assistant coach Michael Fly recruited Paul while he was at Jacksonville University, and quickly made him a priority once he returned to his alma mater in March.
Paul’s camp also has multiple ties to Florida State, and those relationships played a big part in getting the commitment done.

This is Florida State’s second top-100 commitment in the 2026 class. The first was center Marcis Ponder, who was also on campus over the weekend for his official visit.
Overall, this is basketball’s third commitment this cycle as four-star wide receiver Jasen Lopez is also expected to play basketball.
Florida State is also only the third team this recruiting cycle to have two blue-chip recruits committed. The only other teams are Purdue and Ohio State.
