No. 18 FSU (3-2, 0-2) struck first on Saturday night vs. rival No. 3 Miami (5-0, 1-0) but the Hurricanes strung together 28 consecutive points and ultimately held on for a 28-22 win.

“I’m sorry for the outcome,” FSU head coach Mike Norvell said in his opening statement. “This is a game there’s so much excitement around — to come up short in this one is really disappointing in every way.”
FSU coordinators Gus Malzahn and Tony White will speak to the media on Sunday evening.

Saturday’s loss to Miami marked the 7th consecutive ACC loss for Florida State.
FSU knocked off 10th ranked Alabama 31-17 in week one and will not play another non-conference game until its regular season finale at Gainesville vs. the Florida Gators.
FSU will continue its ACC slate on Saturday, October 11th in Tallahassee against the Pittsburgh Panthers. The Panthers made a change at QB on Saturday turning to freshman Mason Heintschel who led the way in a 48-7 win over Boston College.
The teams last met in 2023 at Acrisure Stadium when FSU held off the Panthers for a 24-7 win en route to an ACC Championship.
