Warchant TV: Malzahn, White discuss Florida State win over Alabama

Florida State held its customary Sunday walk-through following an impressive 31-17 win over #8 Alabama.

Florida State defensive coordinator Tony White and offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn met with the media afterwards.

White called the effort vs. Alabama a good first step and had strong praise for Darryl and Mandrell Desir.

“Both of those twins, if they continue to do what they’re supposed to do, will be freshman All Americans,” said White

Florida State will face East Texas A&M next Saturday at noon inside Doak Campbell Stadium. It will be first meeting between the two programs. The Lions opened their season with a 42-13 loss at SMU

FSU has now won three of its last four season openers, all vs. teams from the SEC (2022 – LSU, 2023 – LSU, 2025 – Alabama).

FSU will begin its ACC slate on Friday, September 26th in Charlottesville against the Virginia Cavaliers. The teams last met in 2019 when the Hoos held off the ‘Noles 31-24 in Scott Stadium. Virginia opened with a 48-7 win over Coastal Carolina in Week One.
