Georgia lands the commitment of coveted OL Zykie Helton

Georgia has added another piece to the 2026 offensive line class in Carrollton (Ga.) three-star Zykie Helton. The former Alabama commit has announced his pledge to Georgia.
Helton is Georgia’s 14th commit in the class of 2026. He is Georgia’s third offensive line commit in the 2026 cycle. Georgia landed Zachary Lewis earlier this week.
The Carrollton star committed to Alabama on July 7, 2023. Helton reopened things last year.
Georgia has remained involved and as a central figure in Helton’s recruitment. Helton was in Athens for an official visit last weekend.
The Bulldogs closed things out with Helton that weekend. Georgia landed Helton’s teammate, Ryan Mosley, back on May 28.
Zykie Helton has been blown away by Georgia
Georgia was among Helton’s top four schools because of the consistency they’ve shown throughout the process. Helton was also high on Georgia’s development.

“Georgia made my final four because of their consistent success in player development and the strong relationship I’ve built with the coaching staff,” Helton told DawgsHQ back on May 11. “They’ve shown they know how to win and get guys to the league and that’s important to me… They’re definitely near the top. I’m still weighing everything, but Georgia is in a strong position heading into my official visits.”
Helton felt prioritized by Georgia and offensive line coach Stacy Searels.
“They’re recruiting me hard,” Helton said on May 11. “Coach Searels stays in touch constantly. The message is simple: they believe I can be a difference-maker in their program and they have a clear vision for how I’d be used in their system.”
Helton was in Athens during the spring and fell in love with the practice culture at Georgia.
“The energy was unreal,” Helton told DawgsHQ on March 18. “From the moment practice started, everything was moving fast, and you could tell there was a real focus on competition. The players were locked in, and the coaches were super engaged, making sure every rep had intensity and purpose. The team just brings a different level of juice. The players were hyping each other up, but at the same time, they were holding each other accountable. You could tell there’s a strong culture where everyone is pushing to get better, and nobody wants to let the guy next to them down.”
