Indiana basketball offers 2026 4-star big man Davion Adkins

Indiana basketball has extended a scholarship offer to one of the premier big men in the country, Davion Adkins, a top-25 national prospect in the class of 2026.
Adkins is ranked as the No. 3 power forward in the nation by the On3 Industry Ranking and the No. 1 overall player in Texas for his class.
The 6-foot-8 power forward from Faith Family Academy in Oak Cliff, Texas, announced the Indiana offer on Thursday, adding the Hoosiers to an already crowded list of high-major programs vying for his services. That list includes Kansas, Texas, LSU, Houston, Oregon and more.
Indiana’s interest in Adkins underscores head coach Darian DeVries’ continued emphasis on athletic, high-upside frontcourt players who can thrive in an up-tempo, physical system.
Adkins has already shown why he’s one of the most sought-after forwards in the country. Playing for the Southern Assault 17U team this spring, he’s stood out as a rim-running force who thrives in transition and on the offensive glass.

With a 7-foot-2 wingspan, an expanding offensive toolkit, and proven performance against elite competition, Adkins is exactly the kind of frontcourt anchor that could thrive in Assembly Hall.
Recruiting battles for top-tier bigs like Adkins tend to go deep into the cycle — but Indiana’s early push signals serious intent.
Inside Texas’ Keenan Womack had this to say about Adkins in April:
Big man Davion Adkins is a rim runner that scores his baskets inside the painted area as a lob threat and in transition. Adkins’ mother was a Division I basketball player at Grambling State, and he inherited her competitiveness, as one of Adkins’ biggest attributes is his motor, evident in his ability on the offensive glass.
Playing for Southern Assault 17U this season after playing for 16U last year, Adkins is a very good athlete whose bread and butter is play finishing on the offensive end. He can run the floor on the break, and is also very good at put-backs due to his frame and leaping ability. He has excellent timing to pair with this, making him very difficult to guard at the high school level.
Though he has essentially no experience as an outside shooter, meaning his game revolves completely around the rim, Adkins has enough ability near the basket to make him a valuable player for a team that likes to get into transition. He would serve as a power forward at the collegiate level, though he does need to develop some level of outside skill in order to fully reach his potential as an athlete.
On3 National Basketball Reporter Joe Tipton said the following on Adkins in late January:
Davion Adkins is a very interesting prospect. The 6-8 power forward out of Faith Family (TX) does most of his damage around the basket and found success doing just that tonight. The four-star junior led his team in scoring with 26 points and added seven rebounds.
Davion Adkins has made quite a rise over the past 12 months, continuing to get better each time out. The 6-foot-8 forward from Texas is now On3’s No. 23 overall player in the 2026 rankings. Adkins is an explosive athlete, so it all starts there. The lefty, has excellent timing, great length, and he is a twitchy athlete. At 6-foot-8, he is one of the best shot blockers in this camp. He runs the floor very well for a big man, quickly switching ends. The most intrige/development in his game has come with the shooting. He is knocking down pick-and-pop jumpers from 18 to 23 feet pretty consistently here. That simply opens up more to his game.
The explosive pop and the timing that Adkins has is unique. He has a strong base that goes well with excellent length. But his ability to run and move makes him a constant threat, on both ends, around the basket. The lefty is adding to his game with touch on the jump shot, he knocked down multiple pick-and-pop middies and jump hooks this morning.
