Indiana basketball has officially joined the growing list of high-major programs pursuing 2026 forward Latrell Allmond.

The 6-foot-8, 225-pound prospect from Richmond, Virginia, announced via Instagram that he has received a scholarship offer from the Hoosiers.

Allmond stars at John Marshall High School and competes for Team Loaded on the adidas 3SSB circuit. A consensus four-star recruit, he is ranked No. 41 nationally in the 2026 class by the On3 Industry Ranking and is widely regarded as one of the top power forwards in the country.

As a junior, Allmond turned in a standout season that earned him Class 2 Virginia High School League Player of the Year honors.

He averaged 21.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, 1.7 steals, and 1.4 assists per game while shooting 63 percent from the field. His shooting efficiency was notable across the board, shooting 70 percent on two-point attempts, 44 percent from three-point range, and 76 percent at the free throw line.

Allmond’s recruitment has steadily gained momentum over the last couple of months.

He holds offers from a long list of major programs, including Kansas, Florida State, Louisville, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, NC State, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Texas A&M, among others.

There are notable ties between Allmond and Indiana’s coaching staff. He took a visit to Tennessee last fall while current Indiana assistant Rod Clark was still on staff in Knoxville.

Assistant Kenny Johnson, another recent addition to Darian DeVries’ staff, previously coached at Georgetown — another school that has offered Allmond.

Back in late January, Allmond discussed with On3’s Joe Tiption what he’s looking for in a program.

“Playing time is something that will for sure be a factor for me. I want to play in a system that kind of has like a five-out feel, get out and run, defend,” Allmond told Tipton. “I’m a versatile wing, that is what I’m getting recruited as. So a team where I have an opportunity to play and whose system will let me go out and show what I can do on the court.”

On the court, Allmond profiles as a modern “four” with a blend of power, touch, and mobility. He scores effectively on the block with both hands and has developed into a consistent perimeter shooter. His combination of strength and footwork allows him to rebound well, protect the rim, and run the floor in transition.

With Allmond continuing to showcase his talents on the 3SSB circuit this spring and summer, Indiana’s involvement signals a strong push to secure a versatile frontcourt anchor for the future.
