Starzyk decommits from Iowa
There has been a change in plans for kicker Scott Starzyk. The 5-foot-9, 172-pound Texas native, ranked No. 1 in the country by Kohl’s Kicking, announced today that he has decommitted from the Iowa Hawkeyes the week before the early signing period is set to begin.
“I want to thank the University of Iowa and especially Coach Woods and Coach Ferentz for the opportunity to play football for the Hawkeyes,” Starzyk said in a statement. “However, I’m officially decommitting from the University of Iowa.”

Starzyk, who visited Michigan earlier this season, originally chose Iowa over scholarship offers from Syracuse, Mississippi State, and Memphis. Since then, the Wolverines have offered as well.
This season, as a senior, Starzyk has made 3/5 field goal attempts with a long of 55 yards and is averaging 41.5 yards per punt for The Woodlands High School.
