Kansas State makes it three commits in three days in the 2023 class by landing Hutchinson Community College linebacker Terry Kirksey. He follows up North Dakota State defensive back transfer Marques Sigle on Sunday and Denver-area tight end Andrew Metzger on Monday.

Kirksey was offered by K-State head coach Chris Klieman on November 13, and the two sides have been in contact ever since that date. Heck, they were in communication before that, too. The No. 20 junior college player in America, according to On3, visited Manhattan for the Tulane game as well.

Additionally, Klieman was at the Junior College National Championship Game along with linebackers coach Steve Stanard and cornerbacks coach Van Malone last Wednesday night in Little Rock, Arkansas. The Blue Dragons took on Iowa Western Community College and now fellow Kansas State commit Will Lee.

His commitment comes on the heels of his official visit to Manhattan, which took place over the weekend at the same time as both Sigle and Metzger, but also receiver transfer commit Keagan Johnson, Oklahoma State transfer Thomas Harper and Oregon transfer Sean Dollars.

He is an Alabama native also held offers from Arkansas State, Charlotte, Colorado State, UConn, Indiana, Kansas, Marshall, Nebraska, USF, Southern Miss, Tennessee State, Troy, UNLV, Washington State and Western Kentucky.

The newest K-State commit is the fourth linebacker in the 2023 class for the Wildcats. He joins high schoolers Austin Romaine and Collin Dunn and Iowa Central Community College standout Rex Van Wyhe.

Kirksey is also the second Alabama native to join the class, along with Dunn.

With Kansas State losing Daniel Green next season, Kirksey is likely seen as a candidate for the ‘Mike’ linebacker position. He had 80 tackles this season for Hutchinson Community College and will arrive in Manhattan for the spring semester and have two years of eligibility remaining.

Signing Day is in less than 24 hours.
