Kansas State has started Big 12 play 2-0 for the first time since 2014. They now hit the road for the second time this week to meet with Texas Tech for the only time this season. The Red Raiders are also tied atop the Big 12 with K-State at 2-0, following wins over Texas and Oklahoma State. Both teams entered the season with uncertainty, now one will be 3-0 to start league play.

For K-State, they have improved their shooting since conference play began. Just a 30% three-point shooting team on the season, the Wildcats are near 36% in two Big 12 games. They also have dominated on defense, proving to be one of the best in the Big 12 and top 40 nationally.

There are connections galore in this game between Kansas State and Texas Tech. First-year Tech head coach Grant McCasland was Tylor Perry’s coach at North Texas the last two seasons. One of McCasland’s assistants in Denton was current K-State assistant coach Jareem Dowling. Also, Red Raider guard Joe Toussaint, who is in the midst of his best season ever, almost transferred to K-State this summer from West Virginia before committing to Texas Tech.
