#16 UK Hoops Take On #5 Tennessee Tonight (And It's Free! Sorta.)

by:Will Lentz02/07/11

I know this was mentioned earlier on the site, but it bears repeating.  The Kentucky women’s basketball team takes on the perennial powerhouse Tennessee Volunteers tonight at memorial.  Kentucky is riding a 7 game win streak and is a legitimate threat to win the SEC at 7-2 currently.  The Volunteers are the Volunteers, sitting at number 5 in the polls and 9-0 in the SEC so far.  While the lady Cats seemed to stumble earlier in the year, they have put that behind them and are coming off a complete thrashing of Auburn to the tune of 69-38.

Even more, this game will bring former Kentucky coach and program ressurector Mickie Demoss back to the state, as she is a part of Pat Summit’s staff now at Tennessee.

To top it off, admission is free tonight with a Student ID (and only 7 dollars if you don’t have one.)  If you ever want to catch a women’s basketball game, this is the time to go.  I went to see Kentucky play Tennessee a few years back when they played in Rupp and the atmosphere was incredible.  I can only imagine what it will be like in Memorial.

The game starts at 9 and will also be on ESPN2.
