Two incoming Wildcats are up for the state’s most prestigious individual basketball honor.

On Friday morning, both Shelby Valley’s Cassidy Rowe and Anderson County’s Amiya Jenkins were tabbed as two of the 18 finalists for 2022 Miss Kentucky Basketball. The two high school hoopers are committed to head coach Kyra Elzy and the Kentucky Wildcats Women’s Basketball team, which they’ll join following the conclusions of their senior seasons. Rowe was named the Region 15 Player of the Year while Jenkins took home the honors out of Region 8. Both girls signed their National Letters of Intent with UK back in the fall.

The Mr. and Miss Kentucky Basketball award is handed out to the state’s top senior. 19 boys and 18 girls were selected as candidates by the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches. A live award ceremony will take place at the Lexington Griffin Gate Marriott Resort on March 20th.
