2/4/2011 UPDATE: Fan Outfitters College Basketball Contest

by:asdfasdf02/04/11
I swear I am not working on commission Let's recap the recent action in the College Basketball Fan Contest. Monday: Texas showed out, having no mercy against Texas A&M. Georgetown beat Louisville by 3 at home. Thank you, Georgetown. Tuesday: Maine lost by 10 to Boston U. Savannah State topped Arkansas State. Wednesday: Nevada got bounced from the contest by fellow winstreaker Utah State, losing by a mere 22 points... 0_o. George Mason won again, smashing Hostra. Northern Iowa narrowly escaped Illinois State by 2 at home. Duquesne beat George Washington at home. VCU took a tumble at Northeastern. Xavier did the same on the road, losing to Charlotte. Thursday: In a battle of contest contenders, Coastal Carolina topped Liberty 77-71. Cleveland State took down Valpo by 11. Montana closed out the M section of our contest by getting stomped by Weber State. Oakland destroyed Western Illinois on the road. Ohio State beat Michigan, despite the occasional run by the Wolverines to make it close. 13 teams remain after a disastrous weekend for previously unbeaten no-names. For those questioning the removal of New Orleans, Matt decided they should be disqualified when it came to his attention that they will not play one Division I team the rest of the season. New Orleans is a transitioning team, as a commenter pointed out, and the lack of legitimate scheduling makes their win streak uncomparable to the others, as well as an unfair advantage. Kudos to whoever did the crazy detective work in order to pick them, though. Coming up tonight, the marquee match-up of Harvard at Princeton will be a battle of Ivy League unbeatens, with BTI's soul on the line.
